Simulation
We will be using Houdini’s Sparse Pyro Solver to simulate realistic Cumulus Congestus clouds. I’ll take you through my entire setup and show you exactly what I do to create my clouds.

Wedge Caching
Learn how to add some proceduralism and simulate multiple clouds with the click of a button.

Shading
Using Blender we will create a beautiful cloud shader to bring our cloud to life and set it up so we can make changes easily.

Rendering
Using Blender Cycles GPU we will go over the render settings needed to render our clouds accurately.

Compositing
Finally we will use Nuke to composite our render layers together and I will show you some of the additional steps I take to finish off the renders.

Marc is one of the lead artists at Industrial Light & Magic. He has over 12 years of industry experience and has been dedicating the past few years to learning and understanding cloud simulations inside of Houdini.

This course utilizes Houdini for cloud simulations and Blender for rendering. In my case I am using Houdini 19.5.534 & Blender 3.6.0.

This course is designed to accommodate artists at all skill levels BUT a basic understanding of Houdini would be very helpful.
We provide step-by-step guidance, making it accessible for beginners while offering advanced insights for experienced users. -
This course is only offered in English right now. There is no option to add subtitles unfortunately.

Because of the amount of detail our final simulations have, it's recommended to use a computer with decent processing power and memory.
